GAF is North America's largest roofing manufacturer, and the GAF Certified™ designation isn't something a contractor can buy or claim — it's earned by meeting GAF's licensing, insurance, training, and references requirements. As a GAF Certified contractor we're vetted by GAF before they put their name behind us, and we're authorized to register their enhanced warranty programs on qualifying installs.

Without an enhanced warranty, the default GAF coverage on a Timberline HDZ install is the Smart Choice Limited Warranty — 25-year prorated material coverage, no workmanship coverage, no tear-off labor coverage. That's the baseline you get from any uncertified GAF installer or a certified installer who simply doesn't bother to register your warranty.

As a GAF Certified contractor we register the GAF System Plus Limited Warranty on every qualifying install at no extra charge. It replaces the prorated 25-year material coverage with:

50-year non-prorated material
On shingles AND the full GAF accessory system (underlayment, ice & water shield, starter, ridge cap, ventilation).
2-year workmanship from GAF
Added on top of our own workmanship warranty — backed by the manufacturer, not just the installer.
Tear-off labor on covered claims
The single largest labor line on any replacement is covered if a valid material claim ever triggers.
Transferable to next owner
Documented value-add at resale — a buyer inherits coverage instead of starting from zero.

The qualifying condition is using GAF's full accessory system — Pro-Start starter strip, Tiger Paw underlayment, StormGuard or WeatherWatch ice & water shield, Seal-A-Ridge ridge cap, and Cobra ridge vent. Those accessories are what we install on every replacement regardless, so the marginal cost to register System Plus is small — and it's included in our quote at no extra line item.

Twenty colors in current production means future repair lots are realistic to match.

For premium or designer work, we install GAF Camelot II and other premium lines — dimensional profiles that mimic slate or wood shake at a step up from architectural pricing, with the same System Plus warranty class.

What does the GAF System Plus warranty actually cover?+
