Insurance

General Liability + Workers' Comp

Full coverage · COI on request

Full general liability and workers' compensation coverage. We send a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) by email within an hour of any request, and we list you (or your property management company) as a certificate holder on request. Our Workmanship Warranty

Lifetime Workmanship Coverage

In writing · on every install

On top of the GAF 2-year workmanship coverage included in System Plus, we provide our own written workmanship warranty on every install — documented in your contract and warranty paperwork. We've been roofing NJ continuously and stand behind the install.

Tier honesty

We're GAF Certified — not Master Elite. Here's why we say it.

GAF has multiple contractor tiers. GAF Certified— what we hold — authorizes the GAF System Plus Limited Warranty (50-year non-prorated material, 2-year workmanship from GAF, tear-off labor on covered claims). It's the strongest GAF warranty available outside Master Elite, and we register it on every qualifying install at no extra charge.

GAF Master Elite is a higher tier held by a small percentage of GAF contractors, and it authorizes the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty (the top GAF warranty program). We do not hold Master Elite status and we do not offer Golden Pledge. The reason we say this plainly is because the Master Elite credential is frequently misrepresented in NJ roofing sales — and getting an uncertified-or-Certified-only contractor to claim Master Elite and Golden Pledge is one of the most common scams in the market. Verify the tier in GAF's directory before signing any contract that claims it.

Telling you the truth about what tier we hold is the same standard we want every NJ roofing contractor held to. Our full GAF Certified vs Regular Roofer guide walks through the verification process and the red flags.

Why credentials matter

What our credentials mean for your roof

Better warranties. The GAF System Plus Limited Warranty replaces the default 25-year prorated material coverage with 50-year non-prorated material and adds workmanship and tear-off labor coverage from the manufacturer. That warranty is registered with GAF directly and is transferable to a future homeowner — a documented value-add at resale.

A complete install system. The enhanced warranty requires the full GAF accessory system to be installed (Pro-Start starter strip, Tiger Paw underlayment, StormGuard or WeatherWatch ice & water shield, Seal-A-Ridge ridge cap, Cobra ridge vent). That's the right install regardless — uncertified installers can skip parts of the accessory system to hit a price; we install the complete spec on every qualifying replacement.

Liability and worker protection.Full general liability and workers' compensation coverage protect you from being held liable for on-site injuries or property damage. NJ requires home-improvement contractors to be registered, but the registration doesn't itself confirm active insurance — the certificate of insurance does.

Consumer-protection backing. NJHIC registration places us under the oversight of the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, which means you have a regulatory path to report problems and the state can act on serious complaints. That oversight only attaches to registered contractors.

Credential questions

How do I verify your NJHIC license?+
Go to njconsumeraffairs.gov, find the Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) license search, and enter our registration number 13VH13970900. The result will show our active status, registered business name (Precision Roofing & Exteriors), and address. Verification is free and takes about 30 seconds.
How do I verify your GAF Certified status?+
Go to gaf.com/roofers and search by ZIP code (07026 for our Garfield shop) or by company name. Our certified-contractor listing appears in GAF's directory with the certification tier (Certified) and the city-level service area. A contractor claiming GAF certification who doesn't appear in that directory at the claimed tier is misrepresenting — it's the standard verification, and we welcome it.
Can you send me your certificate of insurance?+
Yes — we send the certificate of insurance (showing general liability and workers' compensation coverage) within an hour of a request, by email. We list you (or your property management company) as the certificate holder on request. A roofing contractor who can't or won't send a current COI is a contractor to walk away from.
What warranties do I actually get?+
Two warranties on every qualifying GAF install. (1) The GAF System Plus Limited Warranty registered through our certification — 50-year non-prorated material coverage on the shingles and the GAF accessory system, 2-year workmanship coverage from GAF, and tear-off labor on covered claims. (2) Our own workmanship warranty on top of that, covering the install workmanship for the term stated in your contract. Both warranties are documented in writing and the System Plus is transferable to a future homeowner.
What if you go out of business — does the warranty still cover me?+
The GAF material warranty is registered with GAF directly — it's a manufacturer obligation that follows the product, not the installer, and it persists even if the installing contractor closes. The GAF 2-year workmanship coverage portion is also a GAF obligation. Our company's own workmanship warranty extension would not survive — which is why the manufacturer-backed System Plus matters, and why working with a manufacturer-certified contractor is meaningfully different from working with an uncertified one.
Why are you transparent about NOT being GAF Master Elite?+
Because the credential gets misrepresented in NJ roofing sales constantly. GAF Master Elite is a small subset of GAF contractors with stricter requirements, and it authorizes the Golden Pledge warranty — neither of which we hold or offer. We hold GAF Certified status and register the System Plus Limited Warranty, which is the strongest GAF warranty available outside Master Elite. Telling you the truth about the tier you'll actually get is the same standard we want every NJ contractor held to.
